So the problem you (and I) both saw, was a symptom of the power supply being too weedy. On a Mac, there's Digital Flapjack's osx2x (If that link is dead, see the note at the end of the post). I guess the next question is how can i do that. It looks like it would be useful - but I have to admit that I am struggling to build it for cygwin let alone my pi.
