Thanks for everyone's responses. When I went to Saguaro Saturday morning, I noticed the regular trailer lights were off, but the trailer brakes did work as did the trailer brake lights and turn signals. I took the whole rig to Toyota and they hooked it to a new truck and had the same problems as i'm experiencing.
