Why o why did MS get rid of the desktop shortcut!? Note that you'll need to right-click and unlock the taskbar before you can move the toolbar. I just went into search and opened the "What Happened to quicklaunch?" help file. I use the quick launch all the time in XP, and was really missing it in Win 7.


This didn't work for me. This post has been flagged and will be reviewed by our staff. In a different forum, someone said they did it not by sliding the quicklaunch handle from the right over to the left, but by grabbing the handle on the left end

  • Saves space (There are very small icons). 2.
  • Suddenly you are spending chunks of time just searching for a simple command, where did they hide it?
  • When the taskbar still as apps pinned to it, you can slide the QL just past the normal taskbar just fine.

Please try the request again. It's often when the program updates itself I'm assuming you've taken an update or two since the time you first installed the program. In the end I went to the actual game icon folder and copied it to a different folder on the desktop and then pointed the icon there by right clicking choosing

It's a hoot. The only way to fix this is either recreate the shortcut/pinned link or update the icon for the shortcut itself by Right Click → Properties → Change Icon... You cannot drag the QL bar onto the actual desktop though, if that's what you're asking. Middle clicking any item in the taskbar also starts a new instance. The system returned: (22) Invalid argument The remote host or network may be down.

Only problem I have is that it's stuck over on the right-hand end of the taskbar. they showed the pics with it on the left, but no mention on how to get it there!!!!
