- This is the only powered hub on shelves at Radioshack as of early 2013.
- Small solid aluminium enclosure.
- Moved the entire setup (devices and usb3 hub) to another system (desktop running debian), devices work fine.
- It kills Ethernet when X11 is started.
- Solutions you find on the net which look like echo Y > /sys/module/usbcore/parameters/old_scheme_first and similar commands are workarounds which were needed before such bugs were fixed.
- I'll pop mine in the post tomorrow (i'm in the UK so post isn't anything to be worried about) and happy to help.

I tried the "fiq_split" but it seemed to crash during boot. Do you still need my hub etc ? With both (separate) power to the USB hub AND the Rpi it would not work.
