Rover 75 Electric Seats Not Working

After discussing with them the options they removed the relkay and fitted a small switch on the offside as low as possible If/when the ecu locks up I just turn off a 30A fuse for power seats Fuse 25. Theory from Rover was that something was spiking the CAN BUS to the seat ECU, unplugging it rebooted it. Is this normal ?
The 75 should've been based on the 5 series for economies of scale at least, but BMW management clearly wouldn't let it happen. I have not had problems yet with the seat fuses, so no help on that front from me. I had to do this on a car when I bought the seats out of it! The seat base goes back and forth, and it'll tilt forwards, but it won't tilt back!Thank you for the 12v battery solution, I shall have a go with that when the

The drivers seat worked for just about a year and then stopped again. The only area I have any issue with is the electric seats (ecu?).
